We nodigen je van harte uit voor de feestelijke opening van EMBRACE 2025 op vrijdag 18 juli 2025 in de prachtige Lutherse Kerk aan het Singel 411, Amsterdam. De deur staat voor iedereen open en de toegang is vrij.

Vanaf 19:00 uur openen de deuren voor een bijzondere avond vol kunst, inspiratie en verbinding.

Tijdens deze avond krijg je als allereerste de kans om de indrukwekkende tentoonstelling te bewonderen en de kunstenaars achter de werken te ontmoeten. Het programma begint om 19:30, onder leiding van de bruisende Coco Coquette (Koos van den Berg), belooft een diepgaande verkenning van het thema 'verbinding in verscheidenheid'.

Wat kun je verwachten?

• Muzikale intermezzo's van het getalenteerde duo Jinan & Jaap.
• Een interactief gesprek met de deelnemende kunstenaars:
  • Sanda Sudor, wiens werk vol lichamelijkheid, emotie en transformatie zit.
  • Frans Franciscus, bekend om zijn grensverleggende mix van religie, erotiek en politiek.
  • Wessel Haaxman van MVS Gaystation, die de 40-jarige geschiedenis van queer geluiden belicht.
  • Arjan Spannenburg, kunstenaar en curator van EMBRACE, die zijn visie op queer identiteit in de publieke ruimte deelt.
  • André van der Stoel van de Lutherse Kerk, die spreekt over het belang van de kerk als open ruimte voor queer kunst en het thema 'heiligheid' anno nu.
• Een performative afsluiting door Coco Coquette, een theatrale ode aan Amsterdam.
  
  

Vanaf 20:30 uur is er volop gelegenheid om de expositie verder te verkennen, na te praten met de kunstenaars en andere bezoekers onder het genot van een hapje en een drankje.

You're warmly invited to the festive opening of EMBRACE 2025 on Friday, July 18, 2025, in the beautiful Lutherse Kerk at Singel 411, Amsterdam. The doors are open to all, and admission is free.

Starting at 7:00 PM, we welcome you to a special evening filled with art, inspiration, and connection.

During this evening, you’ll be among the very first to experience the powerful exhibition and meet the artists behind the works. The program begins at 7:30 PM, hosted by the vibrant Coco Coquette (Koos van den Berg), and promises a profound exploration of the theme “unity in diversity.”

What to expect:

• Musical interludes by the talented duo Jinan & Jaap

• An interactive conversation with the participating artists:

  • Sanda Sudor, whose work is rich in physicality, emotion, and transformation

  • Frans Franciscus, known for his boundary-pushing mix of religion, eroticism, and politics

From 8:30 PM onwards, you'll have plenty of time to further explore the exhibition, chat with the artists, and connect with fellow visitors over drinks and bites.
